THEATER FOR THE NEW CITY presents duse productions' an enemy of the people in an extended engagement following its showcase debut - Ibsen’s urgent drama of truth and power.
in a small town that prospers from its celebrated baths, dr. tomas stockmann makes a devastating discovery: the water is contaminated. when he tries to sound the alarm, he finds himself at odds with politics, profit, and the tide of public opinion.
ensemble-driven staging brings audiences face-to-face with the collision of truth and majority rule, presented in an immersive, close-up setting that heightens every moment.
why we refused to yell at the audience: reimagining ibsen’s an enemy of the people
by sanio kurtesevic
an essay on classical theatre, comedy, and kindness -
and the quiet mission behind duse productions’ Equity Approved Showcase.
